Why am I doing this?

I've been narrating for over 10 years. I get asked a lot how to get started from people who are genuinely interested in narrating but just don't know where to get started or anything about the industry. It's not just something I can share in a quick conversation. I really want to help others who are interested in this career break into the industry. It's incredibly fun work with an immense amount of creativity, flexibility, and it can be done on your own time from home. There's a ton of room for growth and this is a great time to opt in. There are endless books to bring to audio and its a growing industry. An educated, talented, human narrator and audiobook producer is in high demand.

Before I was narrating, I was acting, so it was an easy transition. This was a dream career for me and I feel so lucky to have had so much success. I have always loved to read! I was that kid who skipped recess, so I could read and would stay up late reading past my bedtime. When I first got started, it was over two years of trial and error, making mistakes and spending money on things until I learned the ins and outs of technical and performance skills and how this industry works. I look back and wish I had had a resource like this.
